MICROMAN 2006 MICRO-ACTION

Micro Action Series is essentially a licensed character using Microman Full Action Body format with no real tie to regular Microman line. (Unlike Kiguru and Material Force series which are somewhat part of the main line). Micro Action series have been very popular with action-figures collectors who otherwise do not collect Microman series. The characters for Action Series have been very diverse from Devilman to Superman Returns and with nice good mix of live-action, comic and anime characters. In 2006, Takara start several new sub-series for Micro Action line for the Votoms licensed, including DMZ (stands for Dual Model Zwie, Dual Model was the original Votoms action-figures line) series and MAP (Micro Action Plus).

ARMORED TROOPER VOTOMS SERIES

Armored Trooper Votoms is anime series produced by Sunrise Studio and aired in Japan between 1983-84. Votoms is one of the anime series resulting from the Gundam revolution in which the giant robots are now depicted as realistic fighting machine rather than the old super robot story of the 70's. In Votoms universe, the fighting machines are called AT VOTOMS which stands for Armored Trooper Vertical One-man Tank for Offense and Maneuvers. The main protagonist of the show, Chirico Cuvie, an ex-elite force AT pilot, stumbled upon a secret conspiracy center around the mysterious woman he called Fyana and was then hunt across the galaxy. In recent years, there seems to be revival interest in the Votoms series. Not only the old toys and the anime are being reissued but brand new toys are being created such as Takara Micro Action line for Votoms. 

MICROLADY FULL ACTION BODY VERSION 2

Takara introduce new Ver. 2 of Microlady Full Action body in 2006 and the nude Proto-1 (coded name for Fyana) is perfect candidate to show-off this new "anime style" body. The old Microlady Full Action body suffer from many unsightly joint and a little out of proportion especially when use to portray character from anime series. The new Ver. 2 body uses the same construction as the recent Microsister body and slim down the body shape while increase the articulations. The new body makes the first debut with Plug Suit Ver. Eva Girls figures but the Fyana figure is the fist to utilize the basic full core Ver. 2 body. (Plug Suit Eva Girls have several remolded parts and some parts from the Ver. 1 body). The Ver. 2 or "anime ver" body comes with extra set of hands without the articulation points for display (thus eliminate much of the problems associated with the Microsister and Ver. 1 hands). The new body do lost some of the neck movements and the ability to interchange head since Takara use the ball joint neck instead of the peg (which is actually better since the head is less likely to fall off like they usually do on the old Ver. 1 body.

MICRO ACTION PLUS +

Fyana is essentially a "material force" version of the new Ver. 2 body, but instead of the blank head she comes with sculpted heads. Takara include two heads for Fyana, a close-eyes sleep version and an awake head. Fyana also has sculpted toes for her feet. Since a naked figure would be very boring, Takara include with Fyana her Didilium Capsule.  The Capsule being a big part of the toy, the set is actually part of a new series called Micro Action Plus (MA+). The Didilium Capsule is fairly large and comes package in a square blister box. The capsule is nicely sculpt with painted details, chromed bed lining, and even blue LED lights. The capsule I got unfortunately is defective and one of the LED light fails to come on (the feet section).  It is probably just a wire that perhaps comes loose during the shipping.

MICRO CAPSULE !

Fyana is one of those figure that you get if you are hard core Votoms fans, or Microman freaks (the figure is actually belong to Microman line!)  The price tag of 3000 Yen is pretty hefty for the set, but the capsule is very nice and if you miss the old capsule chamber of the old vintage Microman or the Cyborg Station then this Didilium Capsule works pretty nice as capsule for the regular Microman figure. The clear body figures look great light up with blue LED.
