2012 the vintage collection wave 15
the forth assortment for 2012 the vintage collection series features six figures, one from each of the movies. the wave also includes alternate cards based on the old unused prototype card design by kenner.
the phantom menace
vc108 jar-jar binks
this is a brand new figure of jar-jar binks. he comes with faux leather skirt and has excellent articulations. the card back features the scene where jar-jar rode off to battle. it is somewhat of an odd choice instead of a more close-up shot.
attack of the clones
vc109 clone trooper lieutenant
this is a repaint of previous year clone trooper (vc45). the figure is decorated in blue pattern to designate lieutenant ranking.
revenge of the sith
vc110 shock trooper
this is also repaint of the vc45 clone trooper but using helmet from old sculpt to represent the phase 2 version. the helmet is a little too large and like 501st clone his head is just a tad too big for the body. the card back however is excellent and go well with the vintage style design.
a new hope
vc112 sandtrooper
this is a do-over figure for the much lamented sandtrooper. the previous sandtrooper for the vintage collection released back in 2010 is based on great sculpt but instead of giving him the signature orange pauldron, hasbro went with the much white color with clean white armors. to make matter worst the figures were over shipped and many lingers on the pegs. this redo version fix all the problems plus hasbro gives the figure all new card back with the classic picture of sandtrooper. while the figure is a captain version of sandtrooper, there is no sub-title on the card title.
the empire strikes back
vc111 princess leia (bespin outfit)
this is an all new figure and a much needed update version of classic leia bespin. the card back is the same as classic kenner version.
return of the jedi
vc115 darth vader
this is a new figure of darth vader from his final battle with the emperor. it is a scene specific figure much like last year pilot luke in dagobah swamp. the head is done in clear plastic that show the skull underneath when sith lightning strike his helmet. he is the final figure (numerically) in the vintage collection, and at last hasbro finally uses vintage kenner alternate art for the cardback.
